For over 39 years, Ireland’s musical legends The Fureys have been selling out concerts worldwide. They return to Roscommon Arts Centre for another great night of Irish music, songs, and stories on Saturday, January 21 at 8pm.

THREE OF Ireland's greatest songwriters, Phil Coulter, Luka Bloom and Jimmy McCarthy, have lavished praise on folk-rock musician Davie Furey and his debut album Easy Come Easy Go.

THE FUREYS, one of the great families and bands of Irish folk music, are coming back to Galway to play the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday October 10 at 8pm, for what will be their 13th concert in the venue.

Legends of Irish music and song The Fureys, renowned for their hit songs ‘I will love you’, ‘When you were sweet 16’, ‘The green fields of France’, ‘Red rose café’, and ‘Steal away’ will be performing in concert in Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday, October 2 at 8pm. 

CHRISTY MOORE, Finbar Wright, Mick Flannery, trad and classical,, all kinds of music from all manner of performers will be heard at the 38th annual Clifden Arts Festival which runs from September 17 to 27.

When it comes to the story of Galway and World War I there is no better man than William Henry. He came upon ‘the secrets in the attic shoe box’ some years ago when writing in a parish magazine he mentioned a relation of his in that war, and surprisingly opened a Pandora’s Box. People met him on the streets and told him that their grandfather, great-uncle, or cousin, or family friend also fought in that war. They had a box of their medals and uniform, letters or diaries somewhere at home.

Roscommon Arts Centre has planned a packed programme of music to ring in the early new year with concerts from Johnny Carroll, Johnny McEvoy, The Fureys and Davey Arthur, My Brother Joe - The Story of Joe Dolan, and much more.

The band was formed in 1978 literally by accident. George, Paul, and Davey were playing in Denmark with their own band called the Buskers, and Eddie and Finbar while touring in Germany were involved in a road accident. When George, Paul, and Davey got news of the accident they immediately travelled to Germany to be with their brothers. They then decided that they should all be playing together and this was the start of the Fureys and Davey Arthur.

Legends of Irish music - The Fureys & Davey Arthur - will be making their sixth concert appearance at the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday September 29.

The Fureys and Davey Arthur are one of the most respected and best loved Irish traditional institutions in the country. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2008 with the release of a live DVD/CD which was recorded in Vicar St, Dublin. They will take to the stage in the Royal Theatre this Saturday evening, April 3.
